Doing Stuff Anyway: A Jigsaw Puzzle

This was so much fun.

I actually wanted to do this for the sake of the blog, but it turned out to be very fun and rewarding.

I completed a puzzle. Now, I've always loved puzzle games. Word search, online escape rooms, brain teasers, etc. In my 4th-grade gifted class, we would do all sorts of fun puzzling brain games. I love a good challenge.  However, I've never actually done a physical jigsaw puzzle, not by myself anyway. So here's how it went.

Day 1:
I decided to start this on a Monday, my first day of summer! Just to start this summer off fresh and fun and trying new things, that's what this is all about anyway LOL. I got a lot done in the first day, more than I thought I would. The puzzle was 500 pieces, and I got it from Dollar Tree. To be honest, I'm pretty sure the picture is AI, but I'm no expert, so tell me what y'all think. Literally everything is AI now, so I don't even doubt it (–_–“).

Idk how to make it upright and not sideways, I'm so sorry :<

Day 2: This day, I got pretty far too. I woke up and immediately started working on it. I didn't give myself any time for procrastination! However, it was difficult trying to find out where everything went in the middle of the puzzle. Some pieces even fell, and it was TERRIBLe trying to look for them because they're so small. But I really locked in on the second day. I had my music playing, and it was really relaxing, and I couldn't wait to complete it. I was determined.

Day 3 (Final day): O. M. G putting in the last piece, genuinely like I don't think anything could ever come close to how rewarding and satisfying completing this puzzle was. I'd say this was the hardest day because I struggled so much with filling in the cutting board and being afraid that I didn't have all the pieces, and a lot of them looked very similar (almost zoomed in, in a way), so I felt like nothing would ever connect. Idk, I was all over the place trying to finish this. Literally at the very end, I couldn't find the last piece. I was literally getting ready to just settle for defeat, when I found it pop up in a place I was SURE I checked. So I was really happy about that, thank you Jesus, lol. I was able to transfer it onto a pizza box and take it to the living room to show my family. They thought it was pretty cool :3

What I learned: Don't give up when things get a little rough. It's okay to take a break every now and then, but don't just stop completely. It's such an accomplishment to just finish something and finish it well. Even before I started writing this post, I sort of dreaded it; I felt like there was no way I could make a post about me completing a puzzle interesting, and that made me hesitate. So, I took a break, and I kept coming back, writing little by little until I finished it. It feels so amazing to finish something and not give up on it. I achieved something I originally doubted, and I love how this post came out. So don't give up even when you can't see the pieces fitting, because when they do come together, and yes, they will come together, you'll wonder how you ever even questioned it in the first place.

REALITY CHECK:

Effort: 1000/10
Worth it: 10/10
